Friday night football! Football, drill team, cheer & band practices, game field preparations, securing stadium security & other workers, booster club, concessions, and the list goes on. Does your evacuation annex have a stadium management appendix for evacuation due to weather conditions during a sporting event? Does your responsibility only include students / student groups, or does it include spectators also? Is there a prepared statement to provide instructions in the event of an evacuation or other emergency? Are those documents located in the press box? Has your PA announcer been provided training? What communications are necessary for security and other workers?

I live and work in West Texas. The weather is often very unpredictable and there must be a plan for those erratic conditions that can occur. Last night there were several weather delays due to lightning. The officiating crew depends on communication from school personnel when severe weather is developing and should be familiar with the procedures that are in place. Planning, preparation, response, and communication.

Make sure that the processes are clear and communicated. Be safe and have a great Friday night!
